can you create ringtones?
Here's what I've got:
LG VX4400 The first problem with this get-up is that I'm on Verizon's network. They want me to pay $2 per ring for a select few choices of crappy ringtones. I'm a fan of more options, less control. (It's my phone, dammit!) If you look in accessories, they make a USB cable to hook up to your computer for mobile internet access. I believe you can use that cable for uploading wallpapers, ringtones, numbers, etc. You just have to have the right software. Here's what you can use to upload them. Well...it all looks pretty easy, but I want to know a little bit more about customizing my phone before I go crazy. (Especially since I'll be shelling out $70 for a cable. Here's my question for this thread: I've got a polyphonic-toned phone. Can I use standard midi's for ringtones? What about wav's? How (and where) can I find out more detail? (I've been searching all morning with no avail) Thanks in advance, Wilks

I was able to answer my own question.
Groups.yahoo.com has some great answers. I bought a $20 cable from radio shack, then downloaded a free program. This phone can take midi's and QCP's for rings! (QCPs are converted Wav's). I'm still working all the bugs out, but you can really hack this puppy. Thus far, I've got my own wallpaper and scooby doo ring. (Don't ask.) email me at gwilks1998@yahoo.com if you wanna talk in more detail. Last edited by gwilks98 : 04-30-2003 at 02:17 PM. |
