No, don't download angelpotion; it creates problems with other codecs. If anything, get the Nimo codec pack.

Most videos I've noticed now use either the DivX codec, or the XViD codec. I've tried the Nimo codec pack, it didn't work all the time for me. In many cases, I had to uninstall the Nimo pack before videos would work. Also, I've had issues where WinAMP would play the video, but WMP would not. So you may want to give other players a try.

Well, I meant that in addition to the main codecs (divx, xvid, wmp9, etc.), if you have a file that is encoded with something more obscure, the Nimo codec pack usually has it.

how about the SMR codec thing?

I've downloaded a couple movies that have the SMR tag on the filename...and normal divx codecs don't work..
I've gone to some smr sites, but they were just developer sites...any help?
