Nero keeps crashing!

Not sure why. After I finish burning .bin .cue files (not all, just the past 4 or so), every time Nero crashes. I'm unable to force quit, or even restart my OS without restarting the system. I've updated from 5.5.8.2 to the current 5.5.10.28 version, but have encountered the same problem. Any suggestions?

Have you tried uninstalling completely, then restarting and installing again with the patch?

well, i was able to burn other .bin .cue files, so I think it may be a bad cue file. Is there any simple solution to fix up a cue file? I don't want to have to re-download the whole file, or just delete it. :/

Fireburner is a simple program for burning or extracting bin/cues. See if this program will work for you.

It might actually be easier to redownload than to troubleshoot and try to fix the file and/or Nero.

I had some trouble with the vcd plugin. Uninstalled that plugin, and it's back to normal.

This is on Win2k.

thanks for the suggestions. i just hope that vid is posted for dl again. i gave fireburner a shot, and it gave me the same problem, so i think its the cue file. thanks!

something else that's weird is.. after a file is completed successfully, after i eject, sometimes Nero closes, and sometimes it goes to the page asking if I want to burn the same project again. blah.. oh well!

for bin/cue files i use fireburner. the program is less than 1mb and it functions just as well as any 500mb program

for all other burning, i use either adaptec or nero.

It can't be a bad cue file. The cue file simply tells the CD-authoring program where the bin file is and some other simple properties. I don't even see a need for a cue file as this info could be embedded right into the bin file header.

I'd try downloading the bin file again.

call me a n00b.. but.. when I first tried the cue file, it kept giving me buffer under-runs. So I looked up, and edited the cue file. It resolved the issues on some CD's I burned, but others, it would just crash Nero.

Is this a VCD image? If it is VCDgear is simple program for converting the bin file to mpg and it also fixes the file. It can even extract mpgs without a cue file.
