Need help on WINZIP8.1
I have some files (total 12mb) would like to compress and zip it before sending it to my friend. I go to winzip and all the files are now in one big.zip file. However, when i look at the size of the .zip file i created it is the exact same size as those files add up (12mb). I looked up the help section but still the same problem.... i choose Maximum on the compression when adding the files. How do I compress the file ??

Every file compresses differently depending on the compression level of the original file.
For example, a database file, which is all text, can be compressed down to 5% or less of it's original size - that's because there's a ton of slack space in text files. A .jpg, on the other hand, is already in a compressed format. Depending on how the file was saved, you may get very little, if any, additional compression from Winzip because the file is already compressed. |
