Oki,
So I've been wanting to get into a LINUX os for awhile now. I have NO experience w/ LINUX and I'm a total newb in that field. Can someone "tutor" me .. hahah... Couple questions... Can I boot a LINUX OS w/ my existing XP Pro (obviously so I can just mess around w/ LINUX for now)? Is Redhat the most popular "consumer" LINUX OS? What kinds of software come w/ a LINUX OS... (i.e. something comparable to office XP, 'n stuff like that) Thanks.. I guess the dual boot question just needs to be answered for now... THen I will probably ask questions galore if it's possible. Thanks guys/gals.. |

knoppix is good since you don't have to mess with your current install. if you're just wanting to learn how to use linux, i saw go with knoppix.
if you wanna learn how to install programs /admin / other cool stuff, go with knoppix till you got the basics down. |

Yeah, I'll give Knoppix a third nomination.
