svchost.exe has errors... on EVERY computer I use!

Here's the scoop: I've been using my parents' computer (Athlon 1.33ghz, 512MB, Win2K) this past week, and I've been getting these errors saying that svchost.exe has generated an error. Everything seems okay after I close the message, but 2 things:

1) Can't click on links that will pop up any windows (like "profile" button in the forums or links people post)
2) I can't copy and paste linked text

I booted up my compy (Athlon 2500+ Barton, 512MB, Win2K) tonight, and everything seemed great! ...until the SAME error came up a few minutes ago! I have Norton AV running on here, but not on my parent's, so I don't think it's a virus. Both are on 56K modem

It's just SO weird that both would have the same error when neither had ever given this error!

Can anyone help??

Errr... Outlook won't check mail, so it's definitely affecting internet stuff (only?)
