Formatting CDRWs

What's a good program for formatting rewritable CDs? How long does it take to format a disk? Does it matter which program you use after it's formatted?

I've only done it once and I believe I just used Windows explorer. Right click on the drive and there's a format option (I think).

Used Nero as well. CD-r's much cheaper and less burn time keeps me away from using them.

Talking Nero works pretty well

I just build a new cd iso and say burn. It says media not ready, and then pops up a window saying, this is a cd-rw and has info, would you like to blank this cd and lose all information ?
you say yes and it blanks the cd and then writes the cd for you. I only have one cd-rw but it has always come through fine.
i think i have nero 5 something.
