ok. so i downloaded some songs yesterday and i was playing them on winamp 2.91. some of the songs started to play backwards making a really screeching sound. and it wasn't all songs, but a few. i'm downloading some more now on kazaa and when i play them, they have the same problem. any clues? thanks.

New MP3s (i.e. newly released singles) tend to be either: 1) squelched, where all you here are the 1st couple seconds of the song then that annoying screeching noise, or 2) endless loop of the chorus. I believe the RIAA's been on a crackdown.

The RIAA thing was a rumor i heard too - they may have put out all those garbage songs and let people trade them, supposedly to dissuade people from sharing.

Yeah, the RIAA is putting some really whack sheist on KaZaA trying to give people aggravation moreso than anything; I'm still struggling to find good versions of Seether songs. Bleh... Apparently the RIAA is making these bunk files, naming them correctly, making the file size and song length correct, and then putting them out there...so it looks like a legit file but it's not.

I'm gonna try other programs and see what I can come up with (if I can get some legit songs and not this tainted garbage); that's what I'd suggest. (eMule, WinMX, LimeWire, etc)

RIAA all over Kazaa to stop piracy. They are trying all means necessary to lure ppl away from downloading mp3's. A bunch of garbage in there now. If you are good at looking through the garbage be my guest
