Partition Magic errors- lost part of my hard drive
I was trying to partition my 60gb HD using partition magic into 2 30gb partitons. During the process there was an error, and when I reboot only one partition of 30gb is showing. When I open up Partition magic again it shows the second 30gb hard drive as "Unallocated Space". So far I haven't been able to figure out how "Allocate" or format the second partition. Is there a utility out there that I can use to allocate it?
Thanks, ~esdee

if the other partition isn't allocated, it just needs to be created. so create a new partition, then format it.
you didn't have data on the first partition yet, right? cuz you can always just delete both and create 2 new ones too.

Hmmm mojo I can't create a partition on the unallocated partition with PMagic. It won't let me. Your idea makes sense though so how would you do it if you weren't using PMagic? Thanks bruvah. |

well, in dos fdisk it would just be create active partition or something like that. it is kinda weird that it just says it's unallocated tho. i'm not really familiar with partition magic because there have always been good alternatives. but in this case i'm not quite sure what to do.
