how to kill Broadcastblocker popup

Just set up my new Dell computer. Over and over get popup from Broadcastblocker.com. When go to site, it gives price for the blocker and say this advertising pain in the --- "is a builtin feature included with Windows 2000, NT and XP". Right now the only irritating popups I get are those from Broadcastblocker.com. How do I get rid of these annoying ads?

Thumbs up

Sounds like you might have spyware installed or something on your PC...I'd suggest downloading AdAware for sure - and if that doesn't kill it, also get SpyBot and SpywareBlaster. (I know that's 3 programs but I use all 3 and I've never had spyware installed on my computers. They're all also very small programs and won't hog resources, etc.) They're all free and you can get all 3 at Download.com.

Try that, and (hopefully) that'll work for you. You can also kill popups completely by either a) installing the Google toolbar (if you're using IE), which is a great tool for searching of course but it's also got a popup blocker built-in, or b) you could use Mozilla or Mozilla Firebird (I use Mozilla Firebird) both of which have free built in popup blockers as well.

Hope this helps.

Get Shoot the messenger from Gibson Research. Does the same thing but easier and free also.

Or install a firewall.
