Your OS of choice

This has been discussed numerous times, but never in a poll.... until now!

And it's quite nice. I've been running a test version of it for a while now. There are some pretty solid improvements over the 2.4 kernels.

I use Linux on my pcs at home. Gentoo on my desktop pc, and Mandrake on my file and print server.

Lots of advantages to Linux... but I won't evangelize. It just does what I need better than Windows does.

Win XP! It's pretty and it works just fine for me. Only thing is it's pretty bulky.

I went with DOS myself, since I deal with command line stuff so much.

What do you do that requires cavorting around in the DOS prompt?

Both are solid operating systems and I use them both on a daily basis. I chose OSX because of the Unix shell.

sequiro did you get the 17 inch or the 15 inch?

I went with the 17" out of fear of white spots. And after using it for about two weeks, I have NO regrets.

I'm in the Philadelphia area right now and it was like having a portable movie theater on the trip. Plus, I have my main computer with me now, since I've starting using the PowerBook for almost everything.

I've used Macs since my wife and I moved in together (well and after she installed OS X ) but this is the first that is my very own. I love it!

Dude that's awesome congrats. The 17 inch truly is a beautiful machine. I have heard that it is kind of a pain in the butt when travelling but other than that, it is gorgeous. Especially when you use it for video editing.

Good job

Three boxes since it was released and never a BSOD with XP. There are things I'd change but I can't argue with the stability.
