what program makes the best bar graphs?

looking to make a very simple bar graph... most interested in clarity. black and white is fine.

we have excel, and that works, but it's nothing special... anybody know of anything that does it better?

I'd stick to Excel -- there's nothing else I've heard of besides Office products

(There's a software forum?)
What do you want out of excel? It's the ONLY microsoft product that I like. It'll do quite a bit but sometimes it's not very intuitive. It might do what you want but it might not be obvious how to do it.

If it's simple enough you might want to just draw it yourself in paint or something. It is just rectangles after all right?

I use a program called Igor Pro by wavemetrics. It is a great porgram. But most likely too expensive for your purposes.
