Red face Oooops, I just deleted 100 files on the network -- can I get them back?

I think I just lost about 100 files

PC2 has all my files on it, and it's backing up a DVD right now.
I was using PC1 to browse the files on PC2 through Windows explorer on the network, and when I tried to drag the files into a new folder (all still on PC2 using PC1), there was a copy error. Long story short, I checked the Recycle Bin on PC2 and they are not there!

Did I lose 'em for good? PC1 has XP pro and PC2 has Win2000 ... can I roll back? If so, how?

Thanks in advance!

Do a search for a file name you think you lost. What probalbly happened is that the files were accidently dragged/moved to another folder. If that doesn't work rolling back will not recover those files, you will probably need a program like Executive Software's Undelete.

That's sucks, but you are funny. The sounds like that guy on the CDW commercial, "Hey Jim! then network ran out of space, so I just deleted everything. Is that ok?"

Anyhow, yeah, most likely your files are there, but in another folder, etc...

I've accidentally moved files several times and scared myself.

GilbertsGrape -- I grabbed that program, but I can't scan my C: drive since when it scans to the part of the drive where it's running the actual PCInspector program, it crashes. I can scan and recover things on other drives, but since it was on my C: drive, it looks like I'm outta luck. Doh, thanks though

ok, do you have another PC you can install the HD with deleted files on into as a slave drive then run that program?

if not do you have a CDrw or Zip drive you could try and install that program on to?
