We have another problem
This may or may not be related to the other issue I am having...
I tried running "regedit" but it only stays on for a second or two then closes out... what could be causing this problem...

Have you tried running it in safe mode? If not, do it and let us know if the problem persists.

I think you have a trojan/virus.
Try renaming regedit.exe to something else like regedt.exe and running that. If it runs, then you've a little nasty something wandering around your machine. I think you aren't practicing safe P2P. ![]()

Hopefully you have some virus software, since you'll probably want to get rid of whatever is causing that. It can't be good!

Actually, I was a Level 3 support tech (as in 3rd tier) when I was working at an insurance company a little farther away from home. At the hospital that I am working at now in town, they don't have a tiered system as such, but I am instead on a project team.
But yeah, supporting PCs is my life. I've taken advantage of many deals on this site and I like to give back by helping out here as often as I can. What I know, I know. What I don't, I research and THEN I know. It helps the people here and it keeps my skills honed. Especially since my primary home machine is now a Mac. ![]() All in all a win-win situation for everyone I think. ![]() |
