More Spyware Assistance
I saw Mpowered's thread about Spy/Adware, but I have a slightly different challenge.
Something is running on my machine (running XP Pro) that creates a copy of each site I surf to in a file called \temp\gog.html. Each time I hit a new site, the file is overwritten with the new site. There does not seem to be an archive of any kind out there on my hard drive. Spybot S&D, SpyHunter, and AdAware all come up clean. I even ran MSconfig to have only the essentials fire up at startup, but it seems this is attached to IE. I thought it was caused by the Google toolbar (given the name of the file) but I removed the toolbar and the behavior is still there. I can stop the behavior by making the file read-only, but I'd like to get rid of it completely. It seems to be some sort of cheesy Spybot or cacheing thing. Has anyone seen this before? |
