Internet Explorer Problem

Something has happened to Internet Explorer. Every time I go to a site, I get a popup which says that Operation is aborted. Unable to access so-and-so.

It started happening after a nameless search engine took over my home page at Internet Explorer, which I am unable to delete.

I have the Google toolbar and SpyBot checking very often. I have deleted Cookies. I have tried different settings in the Tools section of IE6.

Fortunately, I don't have this problem using MSN Explorer, which I installed at almost the same time that this problem occurred.

Anyone know of a fix?

Thanks, cheapie. I went to the registry and changed everything regarding Search and Internet. I also installed AdAware and that little patch. The home page is still hijacked but at least I can navigate the Web without getting "OPeration Aborted".

Isn't there a way to lock registry entries?

if you wanna screw around with your registry, I recommend RegCleaner...

hmmm, wait a minute... seems like the company got rid of the freeware regcleaner that they used to have, and started charging for a new one....

if you want, I can send you the freeware version that I have.
