Keep getting Run Time Errors in IE - Java
Everytime I go to MSNBC or ESPN while using Internet Explorer I get a Java runtime error. I don't like Opera too much and Firebird is not an option. I just want to figure out how to get IE to work successfully. I reinstalled Java already and also ran Ad Aware in case some stupid little app was running in the background but no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks again.

Windows XP and whatever the latest version is on the Sun website. When I get home I'll double check.
By the way I like how you animated your sig! |

Well now that's interesting, I usually only use that animated sig on my OWN forum, I must have to linked to it by accident.
MSNBC frequently gives me runtime errors, especially with Sun's Java. Usually what I do is go to Internet Options and on the "Advanced" tab I make sure that "Disable script debugging" is checked and "Display a notification about every script error" is unchecked. Usually the site will work fine for the most part. I've actually been having a lot of trouble just connecting to MSNBC lately. In Safari, i get an error code and in FireFox on both my Mac and PC I get a blank screen and have to refresh a dozen times before it'll work. If it turns out the Javascript that's bombing is something essential, you can always try to dig up the latest MSJVM. If you can't find it, I can send you a copy when I get back to work where I have it on our file server. I won't be back until next Monday though (recovering from surgery I had today). Let me know how you make out! Paul |

Sequiro, mind if I just start sending you my troublecalls directly?
That worked man! I can tell that MSNBC is not running the way it is supposed to still but I can live. I just couldn't stand the way those boxes would pop up every 2 seconds. You rock.By the way since I got your attention, do you know if there is a setting to disable how Windows automatically places your mouse pointer to wherever the dialog box is? I think this is an irritating "feature" and I would like to get rid of it if possible. If not no big deal. Thanks much bro. I'm buying if you are ever in Diego ![]() |

I'm using a Logitech mouse, and with these drivers that feature is listed on the "Motion" tab of the Mouse Properties in the Control Panel as "Smart Move". You'd want to disable it.
If you are using the default mouse drivers with XP, I'm not certain but I think that it is also in the Mouse Properties on the "Pointer Options" tab and is called "Snap To". Uncheck that box. If you are using other drivers, probably just poke around in the Mouse Properties and see if you can find it. Well now I might just have to go out there just for the free suds. ![]() |
