Network Stumbler

Ok, I'm still not exactly sure what I can DO with Network Stumbler. I can't SELECT a network to use with it, can I?

Is it pretty much just a reporting tool?

This is in Windows 2000.

Yeah, pretty much just data gathering. You would normally use whatever package came with your wireless card (or your OS) to make the connection to the network.

Net stumbler is pretty cool to map out networks. Me and a friend drove around town mapping out where wireless networks were with his laptop and GPS unit (known as wardriving) and then mapping them to a Satallite photo. It was pretty cool and kept us busy, but we decided to stop after we almost got arrested that night. (truck was off, we were parked, cops just weren't 1337) Turns out 2 weeks later those SOBs tried to put warrants out for our arrest, but they were halted. I love having friends of friends in the court house that keep an eye out for you.
