best way to share files between 2 computers...

i have 2 computers hooked up to a to a router on my home network. One is xp the other is 98, how would i be able to share files between them without compromising security

take them off the network, and use a cross-over cable between them. best security available

I've found the best way to share files is to use a pen drive.

yeah it was the full steam installer, a service pack and some other stuff that i just didnt feel like burning and stuff

if they're relatively close together, you can try using one of those special usb cables. they're handy with laptop/desktop combos.
