Driver for USB 2.0 Device Continues to Vanish

In the middle of a transfer from my USB2.0 hard drive to my computer, everything freezes up. I check Device Manager and it says that the USB to IDE driver is missing. I reload the driver and it happens over and over.

Why would a driver suddenly vanish?

there we go again.. picking on him for using win98..

pick on me too, I still love my win98se and my fat32 partition.

ain't no one gonna take my win98 away.. I can make it work just fine..

johnny.. I'd try re-installing all of your motherboard chipset drivers first, then do the usb one.. some motherboards manufacturers have issued later drivers for issues with USB2. If you continue to have problems, feel free to pm me.
