help me remove GAIN!!!!

so i'm running an ancient computer right now with Windows 98.

i was browsing the internet when suddenly this GAIN ad pops up. i hate GAIN. i wish to remove GAIN. i attempted to remove GAIN. i failed.

i went to the control panel and clicked on Add/Remove programs, but unless GAIN is listed surreptitiously under a different name, it wasn't on the list.

i am a computer moron. i need help getting rid of this cancer.

Download Adaware or Spybot Search and destroy... Both should be able to get rid of it.

is there any way to remove it without the help of anothe program? i only ask because this particular computer is seriously ready to fall apart; i wasn't kidding when i said it was ancient.

dude, just reformat. get rid of win98 and upgrade.

thanks emqtee... i just ended up dl'ing ad-aware anyway...

and kimchi, i would totally do that (maybe salvage the HD tho), but it's a work computer. bleh...
