Okay, I don't know what's going on here. I just re-installed XP Professional about 2 weeks ago and I did all the updates and patches and whatever. Now sometimes when I go to the Start menu and programs Explorer crashes. Sometimes it just happens for no reason too. Any ideas on what's going on? TIA

Have you also installed the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset, your video card and any other peripherals that might be pluggin into the motherboard or stuff that's built into the motherboard ? I'm curious.. what made you do the re-install of XP to begin with.. were there issues before this ?
Can you post the exact error message(s) that you get ? Possibly you have some bad or incompatable memory.. Try running these two (bootdisk type) mem diags. DocMemory v2 http://www.utilitygeek.com/details.php?fileid=130 Memtest86 http://www.memtest86.com It might also help (me to help you) if you posted the details on your motherboard type/manufacturer, memory, video card, power supply type and specs- wattage/ available current for each output. |
