im making a slideshow

ok, im in a pickle, i have to make a slideshow by sat night, and i basicly have to finish tonight, so what i need is what soft to use to make the slideshow, if i use powerpoint, can i put the vid on a dvd? that can play in a dvd player? or is there better software, umm yea, i need help

Powerpoint if you have it, Open Office if you don't.

If it is just graphics, Irfanview can be used to make picture slideshows. It's also good for resizing/editing/renaming/reformatting graphics.

The linked programs above are free.

As far as making the finished product playable on a TV/DVD player, you've got me...

You can use Windows Movie Maker to turn a set of images into a movie file. You would then need dvd authoring software to take it from there. Alternatively, you could put it on a VCD with most CD authoring software packages (e.g. Nero). Just check what the target DVD player will be capable of.

if you can get your hands on dvdxpoint its worth a look at, ive used it to put slide shows on dvd and it works pretty sweetly, give it a try i think this is what your looking for.
