DirectX 9.0C is released on the 26th.
Microsoft's page
WinXP SP2 shouldn't be far behind; MS is not openly releasing DX9.0c until SP2 is ready.

I always am like slightly freaked out to install new DirectX..I remember back in the days of like DX5,6,7,etc where people installed w/ win98 and their whole system would get hosed..Call me superstitious ..i dunno..on that note, I'm going to go install DirectX 9.0c..

I installed DirectX 9.0c on 3 WinXP systems and so far so good.
