wireless network
flaky as hell
i can't wait to get to college to get back on a wired connection. i can't stay connected for more that 10 mins at a time, and i have no freakin clue as to why. POS **** ***** ***** ***** ******** ******** ***

My sister in law had a similar problem, and upgrading the firmware on her netgear router made all the difference in the world. It is rock solid now.

anyways, i would look for the microwave, cordless phones, or another network with an overlapping channel.

For your router and card, there's an option to change the channel to one that causes less interference. It goes from 1-6 (i think). Just make sure they are both set at the same channel.

There are 3 non overlapping channels, which are 1, 6, and 11. 802.11b/g uses several frequencies for each channel. Some channels share frequencies, which causes the overlap. |
