Which version of linux
I'm looking at installing linux for the first time to learn it. don't know which distribution of linux I should use. I've been looking at suse linux. Does any one have a suggestion.

why dont u try knoppix linux.. Its a live boot cd. You download the ISO and burn it to a cd and boot it up and the LInux OS runs in that whole cd . I suggest this because you are trying linux for for the first time..Then use Suse linux

Mandrake is the most easiest (that I've seen) to install.
RedHat probably has the most support. I hear Gentoo is quite good if you're a control freak.

Mandrake is the easiest. Slackware is the hardest. a good place to d/l the ISO's is from linuxiso.org .
Personally, I prefer Mandrake over Red Hat, out of those two. |

I've installed both Mandrake and Redhat on my laptop and I found Mandrake to be easier to install. I used both for a couple weeks and decided that Linux was not something I wanted to learn. Good luck!
