Help: Win2k and forgotten password
Hello everyone
I was trying to network my laptop with a couple of desktops through a router. I acidentally did something where it asks for my user name and password. I don't remember what the password is. This is not one of the passwords I normally use, so I just don't remember. Before attempting to network the laptop, it was flying solo and it always bypassed the password prompt when it booted up. Now I am in trouble. Can anyone suggest any help on what to do to get through and undo what I did? |

you can try to logon with the default "administrator" account. assuming you didn't change the name or set a pw for it, it will allow to access your laptop with administrator privileges. then, once logged in, go to settings > control panel > users and then uncheck the box that says "users must login with a username" or something like that. if you'd like, you can also reset the pw for the account that you forgot the pw on.
