I'm a bit of a novice compared to most of you, slowly picking things up though. Anyway, wondered if anyone could help me with this. Had an error report come up the a couple of times when I've started Windows XP. The last time (just now), it did a physical memory dump, then when restarted, error report pops up.
This is the error signature: BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : 804D9452 BCP3 : B804B7F8 BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1 It says these are the files that will be included in the error report: C:\DOCUME~1\Laptop\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER84fa.dir00\Mini112404-01.dmp C:\DOCUME~1\Laptop\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER84fa.dir00\sysdata.xml They mean nothing to me, does anyone on here know what has gone on or if anything needs to be done about it? Found the 'Mini112404-01.dmp' in a file under C:\WINDOWS\Minidump. The sysdata file didn't come up in any searches. Got an inkling that it might be something to do with the USB memory stick I use, not sure why. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Try sweeping for spyware/adware/malware, and a virus scan, just to make sure your bases are covered.

I do regularly(ish) but will give it a go. Don't think I have in a while. I use all the usual, Adaware, Spybot S&D etc.

Coolest all-in-one tool I've seen for "un-0wning" a machine is here: http://nyquil-kid.dyndns.org/
Download, burn the .iso, boot to the disk... Instructions on the website - very slick... |
