bypassing the password part
i think i installed SP2. but even before that, there was some mandatory password protection while booting up and i had to manually hit <enter> to move on. any way to skip this? thanks!

If you have to do this and don't have a password you should update the .NET Framework to the latest version. It will remove the necessity to have to click/hit enter even without a password.
