Copy From IDE Drive to SCSI Drive
Since there is no Master or Slave in SCSI, how is it done? I want to use all of the information from the IDE drive to the SCSI drive, remove the IDE drive and then use the SCSI as the boot drive. I have Maxtor and WD Utilities discs.

SCSI isn't easy to explain cause it all depends on the devices attached and the scsi technology being used (scsi 1,2,3 wide/narrow, etc). The basics are SCSI devices have ID's and no ID can be on 2 devices at the same time and the last device on the cable is terminated (usually with a terminating jumper). Since the SCSI interface is completely incompatible with IDE, master/slave doesn't even come into play. The SCSI drive will have to be connected to a SCSI controller and the IDE drive will be attached to the existing IDE controller.
However, none of this really matters to get data from an IDE drive to a SCSI drive. You should be able to have both drives in the system at the same time. Your bios should have an option to boot scsi or from your IDE drive. Your best bet is to get both drives working, boot from a dos boot disk with Ghost on it and ghost from your IDE drive to the scsi drive, then remove the IDE drive and you're set. |

Be careful tho - you may have to mess with BIOS settings on the PC to get it to boot with SCSI rather than IDE.
