i just dled firefox, but now i need to dl the java plugin. i dled java 1.4.2_06, but i don't like the way it looks and runs. too many things that are installed alongside it (java web start = 108 mb?!). so, i want to go back to java 1.3.1, but sunmicro's site says that it's begun its end of life process, but it's going to last until march 2006. so, what i really want to know is, is java 1.4 really different from java 1.3 performance/security-wise?
