Quicken 2005 - Free?
I got a copy of Quicken 2005 from a friend, who said he got it free, as i gift i suppose. He never used it.
But it didn't come with any kind of anti-piracy, no serial numbers or registration keys. This is a legit CD, that much i know. I'm using it now, unregistered, and i like it a lot, but not enuff to pay for it. At what point do you have to pay for quicken?

You probably have Quicken 2005 New User Edition. Sometimes they give them out with PC's. You would pay if you want to upgrade to Deluxe or Premium, that's my guess.

You have to pay to register it? Is registration even required? I've been using Quicken since 1994, I'm currently using Home & Business 2004, and I don't think I've ever been required to register. Maybe that changed with the 2005 versions.
Also, as far as I know, Home & Business is never offered as OEM software, only the scaled down "New User Edition". I do recall that the New User versions did have the option of unlocking the Deluxe version on-line with a credit card. Perhaps you have something similar.
