Firefox: bookmark question

Hi all,

I recently backup my firefox 1.0 bookmark via file -> export to create a html file. Then when I moved that file to another machine and tried to restore the bookmark via file -> import in another firefox 1.0, nothing happened. Do I need some sore of extension? TIA

Why not just copy the bookmark.htm(l) file to the other computer?

I do have the bookmarks.html file from the file-> export procedure. Where would I put this file to the new system? I tried to save it in the profile folder but it didn't work.

mine is located here:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile

try copying the bookmarks.html file there and see if it shows up.

You should put your bookmark.html in here: C:\Documents and Settings\"Name1"\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\"Name2".default

Replace "Name1" and "Name2" with applicable names.

I got it to work by a rather complicated method.
(1) Export bookmark from Firefox
(2) Import bookmark to IE
(3) Transfer the "Favorite" to the new computer
(4) Import bookmark from IE to Firefox

Well.... it got the job done. I just hoped that I should have checked this forum again before I actually did it my way.

Thank you all for your input.
