i installed windows xp on top of windows home from cd and now i want to get rid of home from atleast the boot screen so i dont have to select pro every time i log in... or is there a way to move xp pro to auto load instead of home

Edit the boot.ini file:

You can probably Google more information besides these two links...

This is not for the timid - screwing up the boot.ini file can render your system unbootable. Read the links carefully, and don't fat-finger anything while typing your edits.

Start --> Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Startup and Recovery --> Settings

Change the Default Operating System to the OS you want to run, and change the "time to display list of operating systems" value to 0.

what about if i have the two os's on one partition will this work for me too

Here's one for you (which you may already know...)

To open the System Properties window rapidly, press <Windows Key> + <Break> from any screen.
