MS Word docs between Mac and PC

is it just me or does the formatting change when i have a mac-made MS Word document and then open it on a PC. does this happen to others? anyway i can get around this? it's so annoying!

what versions are you using? I haven't had problems between mac word 2004 and office 2003 and xp.

When you are saving the file, goto Save-As, and there is a drop down menu below file name that allows you to set the file-type. There will be an option for back-compatibility, try saving it as an older.. say... office95 type file, and for sure the mac compatibility will be better. Or rather, save it as a file type that you know the mac version is compatible with.
