Hey all, I thought I asked this before but I couldn't find it in a search. Is there a way for a user to switch IP's based on their location, without going in and changing it manually? The IBM Thinkpad has an awesome little program that does this, but I can't find anything for Dells. I would be willing to pay for a program as well.
Thank you!

We use DHCP in all of our locations, so it isn't an issue. Good luck.

Right Click Network Neighborhood -> Properties -> Right Click Local Area Connection -> Properties -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Settings -> Alternate Configuraton Tab.
I can't be positive if this option is available in Home Edition as well, I know it is there under Professional though. Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

Corsec, I think that only works if one of them is DHCP. But this guy uses static IP's wherever he goes and so I don't think that would work for him. Thanks for the thought though.
Thanks also kg. |
