system error when trying to run older games
i'm running XP, with few problems. all of a sudden, i can't run my old DOS and 9x games. I've got one installed that i can play, but i can't run sim city classic, or install C&C(any of them). the error that it gives me says-
---------------------- 16 Bit Windows Subsystem C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. ---------------------- it give me close and ignore as options, both just close the error box. any help would be greatly appreciated.

some old games don't run on winxp. you could try an older pc and see if they worked on it

You said "all of a sudden". I'm guessing that you used to be able to run this games on your XP box. Please confirm.

In my copy of XP Pro I use the "Program Compatiblity Wizard" to run older games. It will emulate the older O/S's
