network problem
When i try to use p2p program, sometimes i get an error about connecting with port 4662 and i always seem to get "You have a lowid. Please review your network config and/or your settings.". Anyone know anything about this, or anything i can do to make it so i can get downloads at speeds faster than like 10k? Thanks, and I am trying to use a p2p for legal legitmate stuff as well!

Are you behind a firewall? You may have to allow traffic in & out on that port.

I have no firewall on my computer, I opened up the range of ports for the TCP and UDP on my router and enabled my computer as the DMZ host......it is still slow! Any other ideas, thanks though jeffbx.

Your ISP may have those ports blocked, so you may need to have some kind of port forwarding setup through the router to your computer... not sure though, just a guess.

Side note - I'd be careful about putting anything into DMZ. I have one thing in DMZ on my network...my Xbox. I'm not worried about anyone hacking that...but a computer...I'd never put into the DMZ. I'd recommend changing that, modena. ![]() Last edited by zero2dash : 12-05-2005 at 11:58 AM. |
