help with spyaxe please

Hey, have you guys heard of spyaxe? My brother's laptop has ads. for it popping up all the time and it's not letting him surf the web. It also pops up a message on his taskbar that looks like a windows message only telling him that he has spyware and needs to download that program and it pops up ever few seconds. I've tried spybot and cwshredder without success. Please help.

Try ad-aware also. Have you tried looking to see he has a program he can uninstall also? How about Firefox if he's on IE.

I found the program for spyaxe and have uninstalled it but unfortunately that doesn't work. I forgot about adaware... I'll try that and see if it works. Not sure if firefox would make a difference because the ads pop up even if we don't have IE open. It kinda reminds me of the about blank virus from a few years back... when you open IE it'll force you to go to their website and won't let you get out of that website. Also, it'll open up windows to ads even if you don't have IE open.
