I'm thinking of adding a forum to my homepage. When I came to the topic, there are two options to choose, vBulletin and Ultimate Bulletin. Both are used by Got Apex? before. I'd like to know the experience from the people who use either one of them or both. And for Got Apex? mod, why did you leave Ultimate Bulletin for vBulletin? I appreciate it.

As UBB gets more replies its stability goes downhill. As newer versions of UBB have come out its stability has gone up. But still UBB's stability isn't as good as competing solutions like vBulletin. UBB is also easier to hack. http://www.geocities.com/sbp7777/files2/bwhaha.gif UBB is a good solution if your not going to get many thousands of replies.

I use UBB and they have excellent customer support. They went out of their way to help me install the free version of their product. It's for a very low traffic setup, though. I have no experience w/ vB to compare the two.

I use Phorum it isn't as widely featured with hacks and graphics, but it also uses php and mysql. But it does the job and is very fast.
