Ha. Slightly funny. And maybe true. But Dvorak has been way wrong before. So I take what he says with a Grain of salt.
'Investors in the Cable Modem Fiasco are in for a sad realization when they realize that it will never get off the ground. What a waste of investment capital' Paraphrased from one of his 1995 Articles. |

I think a lot of problems with IE are going to be fixed in Vista. The problem is how to stop STUPID users from installing spyware programs.
Ohhh I wanna see the dancing naked pigs screensaver... |

Microsoft will not give up on the program people spend the bulk of thier time using. I don't blame them one bit for wanting to control the means people use to make their computer connect with the internet. He is right in that it has been a large source of trouble but just because it is not easy does not mean that it shouldn't be pursued.

I disagree with this also. He's talking about IE as if it were a standalone product, which it isn't (anymore). It's an integral part of the OS, so the P&L statement should be the OS revenue on the profits side, which I'm sure are overriding the losses of the IE litigation. I find it hard to take it seriously because it sounds like it's just an MS bashing session, with no real content. |
