Unable to bid on eBay

I am getting this on the page following the sign-in with my name and password.

"If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you from automatically redirecting to a new URL."

I have been fiddling with my security settings but I believe I reset most of them to "default"

Are you at the real ebay page, or is a redirected page trying to get your username and password?

How would I know?

I deleted all of the ebay cookies, but I can't delete one cookie which seems to be related to security.

I have it in my address bar. It is definitely ebay's site.

What's weird is that if I type in the wrong password, it tells me that on the next page. I also noticed that passwords have to be six or more letters. Mine is only 5. Was that changed in the past few days?

Yeah, there's a pretty specific checkbox to enable this, try the "advanced" tab and look at the check boxes. Alternatively, try firefox.

I can't follow most of these links from work, but hopefully some of these matches will help:

Well, I can use the same method which G/A utilizes to add images at "Click Here" on the page which I am being redirected to. So that works until I find what's causing the problem,

Thanks for the link.

Johnny, try this:

http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

This is built from legit MS Hotfixes - it is safe.

From the help files:

Quote:
Dial-a-fix allows you to fix several problems that sometimes plague Windows. Some of these problems include: Blank page, or 'Page cannot be displayed' while trying to access Windows Update SSL/HTTPS problems in general (can't access secure websites, such as banks) Script engine issues, such as a blank page on Windows XP's 'User Accounts' or Search Companion, etc and more...

This program should normally be used under the guidance of a technician, who will tell you which boxes to checkmark, but it is generally very safe to experiment with. Personally, I have not run into any problems that
Dial-a-fix "caused" that weren't actually caused by the operating system (which is usually why you'd use Dial-a-fix to begin with, no?) Having said that, I am human, I do make mistakes, and I am not the best programmer in the world (far from it). You can be certain, however, that this is one stable and safe piece of software. However, since I can't test every possible hardware/software combination and every possible outcome, your mileage may vary."

Like chicken soup - even if it doesn't help, it probably won't hurt. I've fixed similar errors to what you're describing with it...
