Uninstall NAV?

I've been using Norton Anti-Virus for quite a few years but I let the subscription run out this year because I got annoyed by not getting my rebates. They send me emails that I didn't qualify so I just sent them an email that I will no longer buy their products.

So now I've been using AVG and it runs along with NAV. Is it wise to just uninstall NAV since it won't be updated now that I've stopped paying for it? I have AVG update automatically everyday at 5am.

I'm amazed your machine even runs. Every time I've seen a computer with multiple AV programs, they always but heads and kill the system.

At any rate, yes I would get rid of NAV. Its important to note that there are several items that need to be uninstalled to get rid of NAV completely. Uninstall anything related to "Norton" or "syamntec" or "LiveUpdate," etc. There are usually between three and six items that need to be uninstalled depending on which version of NAV you are running.

If the uninstall doesn't seem to do all that it should, check out the Norton Removal Tool.

Well the one thing I do want to keep is Norton Ghost. Does it matter?

In that case, don't try the Norton Removal Tool.

Check the Services when you're done uninstalling, just to make sure nothing is still running. Norton does take over the box when NAV installs, so there are multiple things to remove.
