the story is so incredibly depressing that i don't think your hearts could handle it. I've explained it to half a dozen friends, and they've all had huge laughs or the most shocked looks on their faces. Oh well.

okay, things are looking up a little bit now, so i don't think your hearts will explode in pity anymore. It looks like she'll stop giving me the cold shoulder, so i'm doing slightly better. Here goes my tale of intense woe.

Ok, I asked my really good friend, whom i've known for 12 years (which is a lot because i've moved around a lot as a kid, and she is one of the two people that i've stayed in contact with that long (outside of family)), out to dinner and a movie last thursday, and she, of course, agreed to come along, which had me in the clouds for a few days. We were choosing between a pre-release screening of "Dr T & the Women" or any movie in the local Westwood area, but we were still deciding on the evening of the date, and we were both worn out, so we didn't want to go far, so we chose to watch Dr. T on campus (and as lazy as we are, we didn't even want to walk for dinner, so she suggested we just go to one of the dining halls and then to the movie, and i'm easy going, so i went along with it). Well, we went down, and were choosing where to sit when a friend told us that there were a bunch of friends sitting around the corner and that we had to join them...so...we did (we're both very lazy/easy-going), even though it looked like i wasn't the only hesitant one.
Then while we were sitting there in the large impersonal group, we found out that a couple of the other people were also going to the screening, so they insisted that we walk down with them, so we both say "no, we'll walk down in about 10 minutes and maybe meet up with you"...but they insisted, so we accepted...again. So we went and walked all the way down with them, which wasn't so bad, but because we weren't a couple, and considering how we didn't want anyone else to know that we were going on a date, we couldn't be all that close.
Then when we got to the line we all waited together, and then they started letting people in in groups, and alicia and i were the first two let in, so i said "let's just wait here by the door so they don't think we ditched them" (trying to make myself seem nice), but she just says "forget them; they can find their own seats" and then walks in. So things are looking up again, but then we run into some other friends and talk to them for a few minutes before choosing seats, and when we start choosing a pair of seats here or a pair of seats there, one of the people from the first group runs up and tells us that they saved us a spot, so we acecpted...again.
Then, the movie sucked a humongous ballsack, so i was getting really bored and stuff, and alicia leans over and says "are you as bored as i am?" and after a short tete-a-tete, we decided to take off without mentioning it to the rest of the group, so things are looking up yet again, and as we walk back to her dorm room, I ask "is your roommate ever home before 11?" because i had never seen her come in before 11:30 or so, but my date just turns and says "she sometiems arrives around 10:30 or so, but don't worry; she won't be home now" and gives me a quick smile, so things are REALLY looking up...when we getto her room and it turns out the roomie is home...so it sucked all over again.
Now I'm going to shorten the rest of the date a lot because I'm sick of typing. For some reason, the roomie chooses to go out with friends and the two of us decide to wathc The Usual Suspects yet again because it is such an excellent movie...when a few friends stop by and hear our plans and insist that we watch the divx up in their room, so the roomie (who hasn't left yet) chooses to come with us, and it turns out being 6 of us kicking it watching the movie on a 19 inch monitor...and i'm not even sitting next to my date because no one else knows what was supposed to happen. Then a few of the people start drinking, and after a few drinks, the roomie starts getting flirty, playing with my legs and then petting my head, and then...leaning over and whispering "I was horny even before i started drinking" into my ear, but everyone heard and started laughing about how i was going to get laid...and i just glowered at the floor.
Finally the movie ends (although i love the movie, 4 of the other 5 watchers were really annoying me), and we all walk out of the room and are about to head our separate ways, but we stop in anohtrer room (randomly) and say hello, and the two girls start flipping through a maxim magazine and laughing at the pictures and stories...when one of the guys who joined us for the usual suspects, who happens to be quite homosexual, chooses to walk up behind me and put his arm around my waist...so...I make a shocked/joking loud sound to draw attention, and it was quite humorous...to them. Then the evening basically breaks up, and i'm about to start walking home, when the guy offers to walk me to my room (half a mile away...), and i can't say no, so we walk along, and he's a cool guy, but i just resent the way that he tried to make me feel edgy (i'm sure it was just intended to bother me), but fortunately it turns out that my dorm is just on the way to his, so he wasn't going out of his way for me, but oh well.

The rest of the pains from this evening took a few days to be felt, but from that night until tonight, things have been extremely...harsh between this girl and me because apparently she dispparoved of my reaction, and fortunately tonight we got to talk about it a little and our conversation was a whole lot warmer, but oh well. I'm sick of typing, so if you have any questions or anything that i left out...ask away. I'm done with this freaking post...for now.

oh, and to top off the evening, we didn't even have a hug or kiss...

this date was, indeed, the date from the hottest spot of hell.

The only positive thing is that she looked beautiful throughout the evening, not that i got to do anything about it...

I must say having to leave your date with a semi and getting walked to your dorm by a gay guy sucks ass but i guess it could have been much worse. At least you know she was intrested. Word of caution though. If your intrested in getting into a relationship with this girl, and your good friends be prepared. If things dont work out its very likely that both the relationship and the friendship will go down the hole.

i've made that mistake before actually... Most of you won't remember, but a few of my posts last year mentioned my girlfriend, and she had been my best friend when we started going out, and through the course of our year together a lot of our friends got close with both sides of the relationship, so when we had our horrible fall-out a month ago, things were obviously going to be weird, bvut fortunately...I had a stronger personality in this relationship, and as such, I came out with more friends than I took in (odd way to look at a relationship...), but oh well.

oh yeah, but back to the topic at hand; most of these people that were disturbing our date were her friends. We have very few (about 4 or 5) close friends that we share. One of the big reasons I never turned the people down was because they were mostly her friends, so it was her choice how to deal with them. If it had been my friends, I would've just said, to quote one of my friends that i told about that date, "No thanks, we're just going to go mac in that corner over there..." (Courtesy of Heather). Oh yeah, and unfortunately, Hapoo, I don't know that she's interested anymore because of the way things have been going since the date, but I'll still give it some effort...

I completely understand your position, but don’t waste your time. Not that she isn't worth it but if you show that you are interested and she just plays with you its just going to hurt you. It’s like waving a carrot in front of a donkey except in this case you know she's doing it but you can’t help yourself.

haha, i just typed jsjs instead of haha, and i find that totally humorous. i went out to a frat party and had a few beers, then went upstairs and took some hsots, then went back to my friend's apartment...and had a mixed drink...and then i wakled my two friends home (drunkest first, and then the sober one next), butr then i went back and stopped by my really drunk female friend's room again, and it turns out that she went out again, and was going to see if she could party again, but i found her and carried her back to her room...where she stripped down, right in front of me, and had me place her in bed... i can tell you that there is nothing more capable of turning you on that holding a totally naked short hot girl in your arms while she tells you how horny she is...but i still put her in her bed, gave her a hug, and said goodnight... you can't imagine how hard it was to not slip in bed with her... oh well...i really need sleep, and i don't want my 1000th post to be while totally loaded, so this will be my last post tonight... oh well...time fer goodnight...

OK, maybe this will help you to understand my dilemma. All of those things that you just listed...are about two different girls! The hot naked one was my friend...we'll just call her K, and she lives really close, and I spend a lot of time with her, and she comes to all of my parties...and last night she spent the night with me...so are you guys happy with that turn-out? Then the rest of the things that you listed, are my other friend, A, and she is the one who I really really like, both romantically and as a friend. So, it really is more confusing than you guys are putting it. I want to be with A, but K is still really hot...and she came over, and while I still had a party going on in my room, she got into my bed and just started to talk to me about how she wsan't wearing a bra and stuff like that...so at least I didn't play the noble man this time around. I'll post the current state of affairs with A in a separate post so that you guys don't get the two confused.

ok now the situation with A is more complicated than with K because K is so outspoken with her feelings and whatnot, while A is more reserved, but she just appeals to me so much more than K.
OK, A and I were just going to go to a preview of Pay it Forward (as friends in a group of friends) last tuesday, and I was supposed to go by and pick up the tickets on Monday when the office opened at 10, but when I stopped by to pick up the tickets...at 9:50 (10 minutes before they should have opened), they were completely out of tickets because some jack-hole arrived at work two hours early and ended up giving out all of the tickets before the people who had been waiting for weeks (and knew the regular schedule of the campus events office)...so I was panicking. I thought that A would be annoyed with me or something, even though I knew she wouldn't really be mad.
I knew that she would just be disappointed, and not in me. I still didn't want to give her anything but the best though, so I started trying to think up alternative options, and my first choice was to go back later and try to use my (potentially) future-lawyer skills in reasoning to see if I could weasel my way into the tickets, but my other choice was to ask her out for friday (last night, if you need a time frame reference) to go out to dinner and the movie on its opening night, which I would prefer because that would be more of a date, but I thought the chances of that happening were dubious, so I decided to try the first choice, and when I stopped by Campus Events, they had somehow gotten more tickets, so I took a couple and didn't have to do any more worrying.
Later, I was talking to A on AIM (yes, Hapoo, I prefer AIM to ICQ), and I just decided to mention the thoughts that were going through my mind. I'm usually very straightforward with any girl that I like, so...I decided to just tell her, and it turned out very well. Here's a quote from the conversation:

"ProMinx: and the second was to invite you out to dinner and the movie over the weekend in westwood in a more...formal...date manner
UCLA*****: really? well, i would love to, but i will have to see how far i get into my film essay
UCLA*****: i would say yes, but with our movie night tonight, sisterhood dinner wed, date party thurs, english paper fri, you can see the press for time"

I wasn't even asking her out, but she still said yes, as it turned out... I'm happy with the outcome, but I actually had to cancel on her (i also knew that she wouldn't be able to make it this weekend) because I had told a whole bunch of friends that I was throwing parties this weekend...which I have been, so I still had fun and she gets to work on her paper. Fortunately, we still have a date, that is not in the least ambiguous, so I'm very very happy. I need to go eat now...time for a Cup of Noodle...
