S: Fly to North Carolina on 9/11

Job is sending me to north carolina, and guess the date. 9/11. I'm not a paranoid person, but with all the sh* that's been happening on the airlines these days, I really dont want to fly that day. Boss is sending me to do the design on a $8m computational cluster we're building, so i'm pretty psyched about that part.

Which day would be better to fly on, 9/10 or 9/12 ? I dont mind getting stuck at home, i'd hate to be stuck in raleigh/durham north carolina though

I'd fly on 9/11. The flights are much lighter that date and your flight doesn't seem like much of a terrorist target.

nah, not going to fly on 9/11. I'm not worried about my own flight, rather events on other flights.

On 9/11/2001, airlines accross the country were shut down for 3 days.

Plus, i'm brown so security would be a b*tch on that date

Just make sure to make a phone call from your cell phone on the plane.

J/K. I guess if you don't want to fly out on that specific date then 9/10 or 9/12 are fine. Though, I'd go 9/12 because once the 9/11 date has passed security will be a little more lax.

I'd rather go when security is tighter. All it takes is one person to be let through security and it's game over.

I would fly on 9/10 .. Because eventhough It's 5 years later if someone WERE to do something on that date, then they will shut down air traffic on 9/11 .. 9/12 etc.. and you won't be able to go. So if you really want to go.. Go before.. and you may just end up stuck there.

I'd fly whenever.

I'll not allow "them" to keep me on edge.

Though, Thesifer has a good point.

no lines, no waiting.

Each religion has got their own way of making you feel like a victim. The Christians say 'you are a sinner', and you better just zip up your trousers and give the money to the pope and we'll give you a room up in the hotel in the sky.

I'll see your North Carolina and raise you a NYC.

I found out this afternoon that I'm flying to NYC tonight (I'm at the airport now) and coming back on 9/11. Anybody got a line on US Open tickets for the weekend?

Everyone will be fine, security will be really high with many unmarked marshalls. I feel safe.
