Just kidding, it's SO NOT SUCKAGE. I was offered last friday and the announcement isn't official just yet (they still have to tell 1 person who applied).
Starting 10/2, I'll be an Associate Network Administrator. I'm finally moving in my career path. (I'm currently a 2nd Level Help Desk Analyst.) At least now, I'll have a job that will make getting CCNA and Security+ much easier. (Plus, my resume will be much more marketable with admin experience on there.) No more pager rotation...no more Christmas season crazy hours or phone support. Sure, it will be replaced with overnight upgrades and angry directors and officers calling me, but it's what I want to do and where I want to go. I've worked 4 years to get there. It will be an odd feeling being the low man on the totem pole again. I've got a LOT of crap to learn over the next few months.

well, to be fair, I was promoted in Jan of 05, but HR call that and this one a "lateral move."
Better job, more responsibility, better looking resume: I call that a promotion. |
