NSS: Offered a management position

So, I interviewed for a low level management position with my company earlier this week and was offered the position. I figured the interview process would be very good experience and I didn't think I had a snowball's chance in he11 to get the position. Surprisingly I was offered the position but I ended up turning it down because I already committed to take a 1 year position, with my company, in Hawaii. BTW, my position in HI starts the middle of next month. I am happy that I was offered the position, and the managers that offered me the position understood why I did not accept the position, so it should be easier for me to get into management after I get back from Hawaii.

On a side note if anyone is going to be on Oahu or on any of the other Hawaiian islands in the next year let me know so we can have a mini G|A meet - hawaii style.

Aloha!!!

You're going to love it there. Just the cost of living is a killer. Was there in kauai last year.

What is great is that the cost of living is a non factor - my company is footing the bill for the entire year!!!! That is one of my favorite parts.

Thanks.

Yes - they even have electrical trains for an electrical engineer.

I just got back from a 1 week business trip to Oahu. The island is beautiful and so are the wahine. The traffic is a complete nightmare, though. It makes DC traffic look tame. I was leaving for work around 5:15 am and traffic was as heavy as it is around DC at 7 or 7:30 am. Nuts.
