SS TSA people stealing

My father just flew back from LA after going there on business. On the way back he was randomly checked by TSA after his name came up in the random generator for a spot check. They went through all his bags and questioned him but let him contine on his travel.

Last night, we found out they stole clothing samples many of which are one of a kind right off the drawing boards so we're basically screwed with the customer now because its going to sound silly to say the TSA stole it but they did. We're out an entire line of shirts and a leather jacket line for fall delivery.

Does anyone have any idea on how to make the TSA accountable or is it basically a futile effort to get those people in LAX fired?

it's one of those delicious entities that have about zero accountability. I'll say this though, there's probably more than a few people involved in this collusion.

Wow I fly a lot and have never had a problem with the TSA. But I think if it went down as you say then I'm sure there are people who would like to here about it. Sure there is not a missing bag that may show up? I would call the airport and ask to speak to a supervisor of the TSA. Also talk to the airline your father used as they may know the proper people to address this.
They did make a bust some months back of airport workers stealing a while back in Detroit: I don't remember if it was airline or TSA employees but it was a headliner here.
Sorry to hear about your dads troubles.

Seriously. That's so totally wrong, but I have to play devil's advocate here, you sure it was stolen and not just misplaced?

That's what I was thinking at first as well. But I wouldn't put it past airline security to steal stuff. It just seems like the stuff they stole this time is, well, less valuable to most than the typical jewelry, guns, etc.

My wife and I once returned from a trip to find a bottle of cheap perfume had been stuffed into our bag. I imagine that stuff falls out of bags all the time, and the crew just stuffs it back into whatever the closest bag is, hoping that they got it right...

i'm assuming that this was checked luggage? because if they are looking at his luggage when he's going through security then he is supposed to be present.

also, it could be the luggage handlers that take the baggage from the TSA once they get done screening checked luggage.

A few months ago I was packing for a trip and I found a diamond in my suitcase - I'm guessing it maybe fell off of a ring from whoever searched my suitcase last. Maybe 1/4 carat, not great quality, but a real diamond nonetheless. I feel bad about whoever lost it, but I've been through so many airports I wouldn't even know how to being looking for the owner.
