i just went to get a oil change on my conversion van i keep down here in florida. i pick up the truck and the rear of truck sounds like like i was driving or dragging a grate behind me .i drive around the parking lot .the oil change guy hops in drive it to hear the crazy sound. he stalled the truck some how. go to restart it and the thing acts like a dead battery . and starter drags ands acts funny. so we try a jump start wont help .then we get battery jumper cables. no luck call a tow truck $70. take truck to a service station. thats were its at now and call inlaws to pick me up. i think im just having a bad day.
i hope its just a rear brake that fell apart or the er.cable got stuck .they did apply it at the shop were i had the oilchange . and thats all there is to the sound from the rear end .and were thinking the starter took a dump. i had been having a odd problem last week were i turn the key once and nothing would happen .try again and it start the truck.not all the time but now and then. i hope they dont charge me a arm and leg.and its ready by monday as im leaving tuesday am via airline. till the 12th of dec. ![]()

Ack! That DOES suck!!! This is why my boyfriend won't let me take my car in for an oil change...he's positive something like this will happen to me....
Hope your day gets better!

Your boyfriend believes that taking a vehicle in for service reveals other problems, or that the shop makes other problems? Sorry to hear ren. that does suck. Because I've been a mechanic since my early teen years, I don't really know what it's like to have to leave my vehicle off at a shop and wait for an answer. Hope it's not too bad news for you. Good luck.

Yeah...what Nija said. He likes to do it himself...he also thinks it's a waste of money if he can do it. I don't argue with him, it saves me the time of having to take it to the shop and sitting there while they change the oil. |

Ohh...sorry guys, habitual I guess. I've spent a lot of time in last 15 or so years explaining to customers that not all mechanics are crooks. ![]() I agree, Reader, why waste money if you can handle it yourself. ![]() Last edited by uncledaddy : 11-16-2007 at 05:45 PM. |

Sorry to hear ren. True, dismantlers never give you what a vehicle may still be worth. To bad you couldn't take off the good parts to sell.
