Thumbs down SS. Divorce.

Yeah. Mine. My wife decided four days shy of our 18th anniversary to tell me that the counseling wasn't working and that we were getting divorced. I am still in shock ( I think) and it's too hard to imagine being by myself. I have been with this woman since I was 20 and I will be 39 in 2 weeks. No kids (thank goodness) but that only means it is slightly less painful. It's all relative I suppose. Anyway, all I have been able to do is sigh a lot. And eat.
Best to all the G|Apex'rs out there. Give your loved ones big hugs and squeezes. You never know when it'll be your last.

Check out Tom Leykis at 97.1 Free FM in LA. That will lift your spirits toward those so called women who pull that sort of stuff.

Been there, done that twice (once with a kid)...totally know how you feel.

Counseling can help you deal with the feelings and keeping positive through (and past) the divorce.

Best wishes to you....

Sorry to hear that. I would strongly suggest that you go meet with as many of the top lawyers in the area that you can. I am sure you can understand the reasoning.

Did she wait till after you gave her a Christmas gift? At least with no kids, it should be a clean break.

I know that it pains you... but honestly, if yall didn't get along, then maybe it is for the better.

WOW---been there done that. She pulled the rip cord 11 years in. I've been happier now than before. No kids makes it so much easier.
There is a green grass on the other side.
Plus, she's miserable in her new marriage too. All I can say is HA HA to her.

always suckage.

Lawyer up. (hang out in family court and talk to the clerks and other workers - ask them who they would want to represent them)

And chin up. Life may not be what you want it to be right now. But you will get through it.

Hey man that sucks.... but look at it this way, if you were not happy, it's all for the best. I feel your pain (Wasn't divorced, but had my fiancee pull the plug 7.5 years in and a year away from the wedding). You'll be fine.

woah... wonder why she suddenly called it quits. Seems like counselling wasn't going to work for her from the get go then.

The infamous "I want a Divorce" lines. I think for most, it is a part of life. I know people wh have been married and divorced 5 times. Just have to continue and put it all in the past. The fun part is when Ex's meet in a social gathering and they don't each other until they start talking.....and your there too.

Thanks to all who have been supportive. I can't tell you how much it helps. Funny, you guys are just little avatars and familiar forum names, but it really does help when a guy (a fellow avatar and forum name) really is hurting. Thumbs up guys.

Hang tough! So many of us have been in your place and have lived to tell the tale...when you're in the midst of it all it seems unsurmountable, but you'll deal with it and come out stronger on the other side.

I agree with the "lawyer-up" posts below. You have to protect yourself, especially when you're feeling low.

PM me if you ever need to talk/vent/rant Like I said before, been there, done that - twice.
